R.E.A.D. Therapy Dogs In-Person

The Wakulla County Library is participating in Project R.E.A.D (Reading Education Assistance Dogs). This program is dedicated to improving children's reading skills by using registered Pet Partner therapy teams as literacy mentors. 

For this program, you will come into the library and sign your child up for an individual time slot at our front desk (children will require parent authorization by signing one of our permission forms). Your child can either bring in their favorite book, or choose from our library catalogue to read to the therapy dog. This is a well-loved event, so come early and reserve your time slot.
